"Over the last several years have you noticed a difference in the types of things being released by Microsoft? Sure they are still a product company - and boy do they have a lot of products. But how do you explain standards like SOAP, XDR or any of the other standards which have originated at Microsoft? I think what we are seeing is an effort by Microsoft to not only Interop with other platforms but to also Integrate. For instance, without this commitment it is questionable as to whether we would be thinking as much about technologies such as Web Services in our Service Oriented Architectures."
This presentation will focus on the different ways in which Microsoft is trying to Integrate with other platforms and technologies. Some of the topics to be discussed are SOAP, XDR, GXA, BizTalk, XLANG, DISCO, UDDI and Rotor (source code for .NET CLR). There will be several integration demonstrations to show that this is not just market-tecture.
