We're just a bunch of volunteers who share a common interest in understanding Object Technology and promoting its use, especially in our local area businesses. Call it a hobby, or self education, or technical vitality, it doesn't matter.

COOUG Needs You

We must maintain a critical mass of volunteers, and most especially, some "new blood" to inject new ideas into the organization to keep things fresh and current. People to speak at our meetings, people to keep our special interest groups going, people to help on meeting arrangements, special events, mailing list management, surveys, and all those other things. Your jumping in to these activities may be the perfect way to assume one of our board positions as our current officers move on to other things. Without volunteers like you, COOUG will wither and die.

You Benefit From COOUG

You get to meet many new people in a professionally interesting context. You will need to operate in a cooperative leadership role with other professionals as you plan and execute COOUG activities. You will get an opportunity to define and create opportunities from scratch, in an entrepaneural environment, just as you might in a small software business.

Time commitment? You decide. Somehow, busy people always seem to have the time to do a little more. Take a look at the part of this site called About COOUG and then consider a call or E-Mail to any of our board members, or just approach one of us at the next meeting.
