ABOUT THIS SESSION:
In a business rules management
system, the business rules should be completely owned, managed and implemented
by the business owners. To realize that ideal, the business needs methods and
tools to manage rules and some of the resulting shifts in roles and
responsibilities. This presentation does not address rule semantics, mining or
organization. It is appropriate for both IT and business audience members. What
you will learn:
o
Why the business side, and not IT, should control rules throughout their life
cycle
o
What methods and tools the business needs to get 100% control of rules
o
How to deal with organizational changes this shift in control will necessitate
ABOUT THE SPEAKER(s):
David DeCrescente has over 20 years of
experience in IT applications development. For the past 5 years, he was
responsible for home-grown rule applications and the challenges they reveal.
Most recently, he led a team including systems integrators to develop and
implement a state-of-the-art business rules system that enables the business
side to own 100% of the business rules.
